Global Recognition: Dr. Arif Ahmad Featured at the First TROGSS International Congress
Dr. Arif Ahmad recently returned from Luxembourg, where he took part in the first international congress of TROGSS, The Robotic Global Surgical Society. The event was held from July 8th to July 10th in partnership with the Central Hospital Luxembourg and brought together more than 200 surgeons from around the world.
Dr. Ahmad was invited to present "Lessons Learned from 5,000 Robotic Bariatric Surgery Cases," drawing on years of experience in robotic weight loss surgery. He also led two live video sessions, one on robotic closure of internal hernia spaces in a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, and one on paraesophageal hiatal hernia repair and fundoplication.
Dr. Ahmad also shared early findings from an upcoming study comparing perioperative outcomes in robotic and laparoscopic bariatric surgery.
As Treasurer of TROGSS, Dr. Ahmad delivered an update to the society, and he chaired the live surgery session featuring surgical pioneers including Dr. Juan Santiago Azagra-Soria.
Congratulations to Dr. Ahmad and the Long Island Laparoscopic Surgery team on a milestone conference.
